Lisa I.
Private tutor in Marshfield, MA
Education
I received my M.Ed from UMass Boston in 2003 and and have a Massachusetts teaching licensure. For the past fifteen years I have worked in the capacity as special education teacher, reading/math specialist, and private tutor. I love working 1:1 with students of all ages, as I have the opportunity to individually tailor lessons to student interests, goals, and learning styles. My approach is to work step by step with students, consistently review taught information, and to teach active learning strategies. As much as possible, I like to use a multi-sensory materials.
Experience
I have been teaching and tutoring since graduating from college 17 years ago. I have a Massachusetts teaching license and am also trained in Wilson Reading. Most recently I was a reading specialist at a Chapter 766 school in Boston, while simultaneously doing private tutoring. I now work solely as a tutor a few days per week, and I stay home with my two small children on the other days.
