Experience
My teaching experience began the day I sat my little sister at the coffee table and handed her a handmade worksheet that I had created from my first grade Math lesson at school. I knew that one day my career would be in teaching, and my goal was to become an elementary teacher. I've reached that goal, and I currently work as a first grade teacher in Boston. My classroom teaching experiences have given me the skills needed to help the students I tutor to reach success. I have structured my classroom for individual learning, where each student needs to achieve a score of 100% on their curriculum testing in order to move to the next level. Additionally, I have designed and implemented differentiation within my lectures and daily lessons to ensure success in each my students. I have also been able to develop and maintain an effective behavior system within the classroom to provide an environment where all students reach their maximum academic potential. I have additional experience as student teacher for grades 1-4, as a Title I tutor, and I am fluent in Portuguese. My teaching experience includes both suburban and urban settings, which have broadened my horizons in diversity and culture in the classroom. This has allowed me to build a learning community with my students. I have the ability to mold students through my courage and passion in teaching. I look forward to working with your student.
